Carter County Sheriff’s Office
is looking for
Court Security Officers
to work at the Carter County Justice Center. Applications can be picked up at the Sheriff’s Office between the hours of 8:30 am and 4:00 pm, Monday-Friday. Anyone that would like to apply for a position needs to have an application filled out and to my office by 4:00 pm on April 28, 2017. Interviews will be conducted on the following Thursday, May 4. Individuals that will be interviewed will be contacted by phone and given a time to be at my office. This is a part time position only.
Qualifications:
1. Applicant must be 21 years of age. Must have a valid driver’s license and high school diploma or it’s equivalency.
2. Applicants must complete a two-week course at the Dept. of Criminal Justice Training Center in Richmond, KY within 1 year of hire date.
3. Work schedule varies week to week, due to court schedule.
4. Applicants, if hired, must be available Monday-Friday and some Saturdays to work. There is not set number of hours per week, but you can only have 99 hours a month or less. Individuals cannot work at any other agency that is associated with the Carter County Fiscal Court while working for the Carter County Sheriff Office. Such as: Carter County Road Dept., Carter County E-911, Carter County EMS, Carter County Detention Center, ETC.
5. Applicant must take a suitability test, polygraph test and pass a drug screen before being considered for employment.
6. Rate of Pay is minimum wage ($7.25 per hour) with no benefits.
7. Individuals must be willing to carry a firearm and qualify for proficiency, as well as any other tools of the trade that will be necesary to perform the duties of this position.
